Biography

Introduction and Biography:

Paul Susic Ph.D Licensed Psychologist is located in Weldon Spring Missouri, which is in St. Charles County. He has provided mental health services at a local hospital in St. Louis, Missouri and now in private practice for a total of 35 years.

He is the founder, CEO and President of Susic Psychological Consulting P.C. and Clinical Director for Senior Care Psychological Consulting.

Education

Dr, Susic has two undergraduate business degrees which includes a bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Missouri at St. Louis, along with a Masters Degree in Professional Psychology from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri and a Ph.D in Professional Psycholology with a Health Psychology specialization, from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Experience and Training:

He completed a three-year residency in adult and geriatric psychiatry for his psychologist license at the former Incarnate Word Hospital in St. Louis Missouri, where he also had the opportunity to create and develop the entire spectrum of outpatient mental health services for the hospital. He spent the next five years as the Program Manager of the partial hospital program and outpatient counseling services. Later, he was promoted to the Director of the Department of Psychiatry for the hospital, managing all of the inpatient and outpatient mental health services of the hospital. He held this position for a couple of years prior to leaving the hospital at the end of 1999 to start his private practice.

He has now been in private practice for the past 25 years, working primarily with adults and geriatric patients. He has had the distinct pleasure of working directly with or consulting with staff on possibly several thousand patients over the past 35 years.

Research:

He completed research on Learned Helplessness and Depression: Comparison of Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living Facilities which was completed in 2015.

Therapeutic Philosophy:

While being primarily a cognitive behavioral therapist, he considers himself relatively eclectic, integrating psychology with philosophy and spirituality, along with simply the common sense of daily living.
